Australia, Brisbane: ENERGEX is upgrading transformers at the Nudgee Substation in Brisbane to secure electricity supply to northern suburbs of the city in time for peak demand in summer.
The planned upgrades include replacing the existing Nudgee Substation’s transformers with two new power transformers, which will increase power capacity by more than 10 per cent, reports Courier Mail.
The existing transformers at the substation have already reached their retirement age.
“The first replacement transformer is now operational with the second one expected to be online in the coming weeks bolstering electricity supply to the local area for summer and beyond,” said Energex spokesman Danny Donald.
