Our readers have spoken! The results of our survey showed that most of you were interested in the topic regrading Substations, therefore we have decided to move our Special Edition in that direction.
Transformers Magazine invites all interested parties to take part in our Special Edition publication focusing on Substations.
The disparity between electrical power generation and demand is forecasted to continue.
For some time, urbanization has been the main factor causing the increase in electrical energy demand. E-mobility goes hand in hand with energy storage and those are the trends forecasted not only to increase the demand for electrical energy, but also influence the structure and operation of power grids.
Renewable energy generation is changing traditional unidirectional transmission of electricity which influences substations and their equipment.
Increased demand for stability of electricity supply, need for grid resilience, smart grid operation and asset management, and mobile substations are only some of key trends that are driving the development of power products for future grids.
Substations are the node points of today’s complex grids, and their design and equipment is directly linked to its performance and reliability.
In order to ensure the continuous and safe energy transmission, the safety and security of all substation components is of a great importance. Apart from transformers these are circuit breakers, switchgear, reactors, batteries, capacitors and filters, instrument transformers, bushings, insulators, surge arresters, disconnectors, earthing -, cooling -, insulation -, protection -, control - and monitoring systems, etc.
The aim of the Special Edition on Substations is to present innovative solutions and put them forward. The preliminary topics of interest are:
- simulation methods and tools
- solutions for digitalization
- manufacturing methods and solutions
- test methods and solutions
- eco-friendly innovative products
- SF6-free products
- pluggable connectivity
- monitoring and intelligent diagnostics, etc.
Our readers, potential authors and other stakeholders are invited to propose additional topics of relevance by 15 April 2019.
