Lithuania, Klaipeda: After a three-year reconstruction, the new equipment and advanced control systems have been installed in Klaipeda transformer substation which is now ready to be connected with NordBalt power interconnection.
As part of the project, the Klaipeda substation has been equipped with two auto transformers of 256 MVA, the most powerful in the Lithuanian electricity transmission grid.
The reconstruction of the Klaipeda substation, coming at a cost of $77 million, also involved dismantling of old 330 kV and 110 kV sections, renovation of more than ten of 110 kV overhead power lines and cables, and the construction of new modular buildings for 10 kV, 110 kV and 330 kV switchyard control rooms, reports The Baltic Course.
