Tanzania, Dar es Salaam: The Tanzania Electricity Supply Company (TANESCO) has recently received a $38 million grant from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to build new substations, expand the existing ones and construct new interconnections.
As part of this large project, three new substations with power transformers and associated electrical equipment will be built at Jangwani Beach, Mwananyamala and Muhimbili areas, reports All Africa.
Msasani substation will be expanded with an installation of an additional transformer.
Completion of the project will help reduce the load for Oysterbay, Mbezi Beach and Makumbusho substations.
