Japan, Tokyo: Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has delivered the energy-storage system with 50 MW output and 300 MWh rated capacity to Kyushu Electric Power Co.

The system configuration includes battery SCADA system, compact battery modules and substation equipment including two 66/6.6 kV transformer units and other 6.6 kV equipment, the manufacturer states in press release.

The system, which is part of a pilot project to balance supply and demand via high-capacity energy-storage systems, was installed at the Buzen Substation in Buzen, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
