India: Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems India (TTDI) has won a $34 million contract from Kenya Power & Lighting Company (KPLC) for the supply of around 8,000 distribution transformers made at the company’s facility in Hyderabad.

Distribution transformers will be installed along the transmission and substation networks connecting power plants and end consumers in Nairobi, Mombasa and surrounding regions, reports The Hindu.

The order is to be fulfilled over a period of three years, starting in June 2016.

In September 2015, TTDI received an order for around 4,000 distribution transformers from KPLC, which was completed by March 2016.
