Sierra Leone, Freetown: In a bid to improve power distribution for the expanding population of Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital, the Government of Japan has provided funds to upgrade the power distribution system in the city and its surroundings.
The upgrades will include construction of Goderich primary substation, a guardhouse with a single story structure for the main transformer, earthing and station transformer, reports ESI-Africa.
A 33 kV distribution line will be constructed to connect Goderich primary substation with Wilberforce primary substation.
700 poles and 20 transformers will be installed along the 18.5-km line.
The project is expected to be complete by July 2017.
