Egypt: Twelve 175 MVA power transformers are expected to arrive in Aswan, Egypt to be installed in Benban where four transformer plants are being set up to transfer energy produced at solar plants in Aswan.
As Transformers Magazine earlier reported, the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity has signed a contract with China’s XD-EGEMAC for the supply of four transformer stations for the transmission and distribution of energy produced from the feed-in tariff solar energy projects in Benban.
The company will establish 12 power transformers with a capacity of 175 MVA, nine of which will be installed at Benban stations 1, 2 and 4, in addition to three units in Benban station 3, reports Daily News Egypt.
The company will complete all supplies and installations in November 2016.
