Midel-insulated 160 MVA-transformer for Moscow in the testbay at the transformer plant in Voronezh.
Siemens Transformers recently delivered four units of ester-insulated transformers, in total 400 MVA, from 6 up to 110 kV for the new substation in central Moscow operated by United Energy Company.
The indoor transformers are equipped with an extra fire and environmental protection together with the option to regulate the high and medium voltage side under load, the manufacturer said in a statement.
The transformers, manufactured at the transformer plant in Voronezh, Russia, use Midel as an insulation fluid rather than traditional mineral oil.
The Bersenevskaya substation is located only 400 m from the Kremlin, so commissioning a substation in the heart of a megacity posed extra-strict requirements on the equipment and the installation.
