Nigeria: The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) successfully completed the installation and commissioning of several power transformers in Bornu and Gombe States.
A 40 MVA, 132 kV mobile power transformer has been energized at the Damboa transmission substation in Bornu State, and a 30 MVA power transformer at the Gombe State transmission substation in an attempt to overcome the shortfall in bulk electricity transmission to distribution load centres supplying electricity to Damboa and its surroundings, reports Vanguard.
The newly installed 30 MVA transformer was moved to Gombe substation from Yola transmission station, increasing the station’s capacity from 105 MVA to 135 MVA.
In the same vein, TCN has also recently installed two 66 MVA, 132kV power transformers in its Katampe and Alagbon transmission stations in Abuja and Lagos, respectively.
According to TCN, all transformers are fully loaded and successfully wheel power to various distribution load centres within the country.
