Abengoa has concluded the works on its first electric substation in Oman for the Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC).

The contract valued at 18 million euros, has involved the supply, construction, test and commissioning of the 132/33 kV substation Al Dreez, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, located 230 km from Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman.

The development of this substation allows much of the energy consumed in the South-West of the country to be supplied efficiently and sustainably to more than 200,000 people living in the Al Dhahirah area, Abengoa stated in a press release.
