Transformer failure causes massive subway delays in NYC

USA, New York City: A transformer failure in Brooklyn disrupted subway service in some sections of New York City, leaving packed platforms and delayed trains all across the city.

Con Edison said a power failure was caused by a faulty transformer in Brooklyn, which also affected three buildings at Red Hook Houses, Brooklyn's largest public housing complex, reports Bristol Herald Courier.

Although the outage was resolved and subway service resumed after a couple of hours, city officials are calling for an investigation of the incident, finding the power failure "completely unacceptable."
