USA, Tennessee: AEP Appalachian Power is planning a $105 million investment into a significant transmission project in Hawkins County that will help ensure continued reliable electric service to its customers in Tennessee.
The investment is set for the expansion of the Nagel Substation and infrastructure upgrade that will include modernizing existing electrical equipment and adding additional facilities to support a lower voltage, reports The Rogersville Review
The work will reduce congestion on the transmission grid and provide a more efficient and robust power system, company officials said.
Construction is expected to begin in the fall of this year and be complete by the end of 2019.
