United Kingdom, Kent: A large power transformer is due to make its way through Kent next week.
The load, HVDC power transformer repaired by Siemens TLM, weighing 318 tonnes will take some 10 hours to get from the Port of Dover to National Grid’s transformer station in Sellindge, Kent.
The transformer will leave the Port of Dover on Tuesday, 24 October, at 9 pm, on a specialist vehicle and is expected to reach its destination at around 7am on Wednesday, October 25.
Throughout its journey the vehicle will travel at approximately 12 miles an hour. It will need two trucks, one at the back and one at the front, to propel it.
