India: Larsen & Toubro’s Construction’s Power Transmission & Distribution business has been awarded $669.3 million worth of engineering procurement construction (EPC) contracts for several transmission and distribution projects, reports EBR.
The company has been awarded a contract from the Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOC for the work related to adding third and fourth power transformers at the Airport Heights Grid Station.
The company has also been selected by Sonelgaz group for the turnkey construction of a 220 kV substation in the city of Draa Errich, Algeria. The substation is expected to be a key component of the power infrastructure for the newly developed urban center of Draa Errich located near the coastal city of Annaba in north eastern Algeria.
Additionally, L&T has won a contract from the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company for the construction of 220 kV overhead transmission lines intended to connect the substations of North Hurghada and El Qusair to the 220 kV grid.
