Spanish infrastructure group Acciona has announced plans to build 400 MW of wind and solar projects in Chile worth $600 million.
Two new photovoltaic plants will be built in the regions of Atacama and Antofagasta, and two wind farms in La Araucanía, reports EBR.
The construction of the solar plants is scheduled to begin in 2019 and the power generated will be sold to the National Mining Company of Chile (ENAMI).
The 183 MW San Gabriel wind farm in the municipality of Renaico, La Araucanía is currently under construction and scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2019 or in early 2020.
The 87 MW Tolpán wind farm to be constructed is due to secure approval.
