USA, Texas: Xcel Energy is planning $65 million power grid upgrades in Bailey and Lamb counties in Texas, in order to relieve overloaded lines and accommodate future economic expansion in the region.
The proposed upgrades will include construction of the Bailey-New Amherst-Lamb 115 kV transmission line project, with 65 to 80 kilometres of new 115 kV transmission line and a new substation called New Amherst, reports Lubbock Online.
The project will also see Lamb County and Xcel’s Sudan Rural substations expanded and upgraded.
The new line and associated substation upgrades are planned to be in service in March 2022.
