A transformer that caught fire at SSAB Europe’s Hämeenlinna steel mill last week will cost the company around $11.3 million, according to the Swedish steelmaker.
According to SSAB, the galvanising and colour-coated production lines are running normally, while the cold rolling mill that was supposed to restart over the weekend will be running at a reduced capacity, reports Steel Times International.
The company estimates that things will get back to normal in about five weeks.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
