Electric utility Gulf Power is set to begin upgrades of the power infrastructure in the Cove neighbourhood of Panama City, as the infrastructure reaches the end of its lifecycle.
The multi-million dollar project scheduled to start this summer includes transformer and power line upgrades, along with the addition of redundant systems that should help residents get their power back faster in the event of a power outage, reports Panama City News Herald.
The project is expected take three to four years to complete. Similar projects have been completed in several subdivisions in Panama City Beach, and the company said more projects are planned both on the Beach and in Panama City.
