UAE, Dubai: Canadian engineering group SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a $70 million contract to provide engineering and procurement services for three substations at UAE-based Meydan Group's project in Dubai.
According to the deal, the company will design and deliver the 132/11 kV gas insulated switchgear substations at Mahra, Jeyad and Forsan, along with 132kV 35/50 MVA transformers, shunt reactors, capacitors, earthing transformers, 132 kV and 11 kV switchgears, associated control and protections, and remote end integration, reports Trade Arabia.
The substations are expected to be energised by the end of 2019.
Meydan One is a new premier destination in Dubai that will be home to 83,000 people on completion.
