Siemens gigantic 1,100 kV power transformer to be installed at the Changji-Guquan HVDC project in China has successfully completed its journey, which started at the transformer factory in Nuremberg, Germany six months ago.

The 1,100 kV power transformer with a capacity of 587 MVA has arrived at the receiving station of the Changji-Guquan transmission project, an HVDC line between Changji and Guquan which will be operated by State Grid Corporation (SGCC).

The connection is expected to go online in 2019.
