Saudi Arabia, Riyadh: The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has connected seven power transformer stations with a capacity of 3,613 MVA to the main power grid.
The seven substations, with a total value of $560 million, will transfer electricity from the combined-cycle generation plant of Wa’ad Al-Shamaal to the manufacturing and mining projects in the city.
Wa’ad Al-Shamaal was launched in July, with the capacity of 1,390 MW, including 50 MW solar energy.
The projects of Wa’ad Al-Shamaal combined-cycle generation station and the seven transformer stations came at a total cost of $1.5 billion.
