ABB is starting the construction of a new production facility in Petrich, a new 7,400 square metre factory which will manufacture low-voltage products and create 420 jobs once it is fully operational.
The factory will be constructed next to the first production unit of ABB in Petrich. When completed, it will be a working place for welding, pre-assembling, final assembling and testing, divided in to both manual and semi-automated operations, the company said in the press statement.
The new production facility in Petrich will be ABB’s fifth factory in Bulgaria. In addition to two other factories for low- and medium-voltage products in Rakovski and a high-voltage production unit in Sevlievo, the company also has a dedicated R&D facility for transformer tap-changers in Sofia.
