USA, Washington: Centralia City Light’s work on the upgrades to the Fords Prairie Substation in Centralia, Washington, is nearing completion.
The company has rebuilt the substation so that it can add a second transformer and switchgear apparatus to the existing property, reports The Daily Chronicle.
The requisite infrastructure for the second transformer is already in place and the transformer is expected to be installed later this month.
Once work wraps up on the Fords Prairie rebuild, the company is to start construction of a new substation, known as the Salzer substation, intended to be in use by the end of 2019.
The substation will be built using the same specifications as Fords Prairie, without the components to add a second transformer.
