USA, New Hampshire: New Hampshire electricity provider Eversource has started work on a project that will upgrade the Messer Street substation in Laconia in order to meet increased demand for electricity in the region and enhance reliability for our customers.
As part the project the company will be installing new transformers to replace old equipment that is ready to be retired, reports The Laconia Daily Sun.
In addition, the substation will be upgraded with new automation technology that will enhance the ability of system operators to remotely isolate trouble spots on the main distribution lines coming out of the substation and reroute power to customers.
A mobile substation will be installed to handle some of the power load while the work is taking place.
The project is expected to be complete in the spring 2019.
