Japan, Tokyo: Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has been awarded a contract by Electric Power Generation Enterprise (EPGE) in Myanmar to supply 7 transformers, 46 gas-insulated switchgears (GIS), and other equipment through its subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd, the company said in the press release.
The transformer order includes 230 kV transformers for substations Ywama and Ahlone, and 230 kV special divided three-phase transformers for Tharkayta substation.
The special divided three-phase transformers can be packed in separate compact modules for easier shipping to locations where transportation infrastructure is underdeveloped, the release said.
The equipment will be delivered at the beginning of 2019 for use at substations scheduled to commence operation in 2021.
