Canada, Ontario: Hydro One’s expanded and renovated USD26.7 million (CAD35 million) Wanstead transformer station is ready to come online by the end of November.

The new substation will provide long-term power service reliability for residents in Alvinston, Warwick Township, Petrolia and especially Oil Springs after frequent power outages that the area experienced mostly due to issues with the old infrastructure from the 1950s, reports Blackburn News.

The new transformer station is built to last at least 40 years.

The crews are running final tests to make sure everything is working as planned before the station is fully energized.
