Entergy Texas plans $600M transmission projects for 2018-2020

USA, Texas: Entergy Texas has started works on the Port Arthur Reliability Transmission Project, one of nearly $600 million in transmission projects that the utility has planned for the period between 2018 and 2020 to provide better service to its customers in Southeast Texas.

The Port Arthur Reliability Project is an approximately $70 million investment which includes construction of 20 kilometres of a new 230 kV transmission line and two new 230 kV substations to be located near Central Gardens and Port Acres, respectively, in Southeast Texas, reports T&D World.

The project is scheduled for completion in 2020, and also forms part of nearly $2 billion in overall investments planned by Entergy Texas with an aim to develop innovative energy solutions and technology and help customers take greater control of their electric rates.
