China, Xinjiang: Several companies based in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region signed multimillion-dollar contracts at the China International Import Expo (CIIE), seeing the Belt and Road initiative (BRI) as a big injection into local economic growth.
The Xinjiang-based tap-changer manufacturer TBEA signed deals worth nearly $144.3 million with ABB, Vishay, MR and Japan's Mitsubishi Group at the expo, reports Global Times.
TBEA already produces tap-changers for the BRI-related energy infrastructure projects.
"We've collaborated with Chinese enterprises including TBEA for many years, and we are looking forward to further participating in the BRI projects with our Chinese partners," MR Managing Director Michael Rohde told the Global Times.
