Abengoa to build 7 substations for a mine in Chile

Chile: Abengoa has been awarded a contract by Compañia Minera Teck Quebrada Blanca S.A., part of the Grupo Teck Mining Inc., for the construction of seven 220 kV substations for the second phase of the Quebrada Blanca mine in Chile.

The scope of the project includes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a total of seven 220/23 kV and 220/6.9 kV substations, which should boost the mine´s copper production and extend its productive life for more than 30 years, the company said in the press statement.

The value of the project is approximately $54 million.
