Armenia, Yerevan: Rusatom has completed the equipment upgrade project in one of the two units at Armenia’s nuclear power plant in Metzamor, as part of a larger project designed to extend the NPP’s service life.

Among other equipment, the modernization project also included replacement of the unit’s power transformer, reports Arka.

The overall project to extend the service life of the plant will be completed by the end of 2021. The project to modernize the Armenian NPP is being implemented as part of an intergovernmental agreement between Armenia and Russia.
