Argentina, Jujuy: Argentine province of Jujuy and the Chinese company Power China and Shanghai Electric Power Construction Co Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for addition of 200 MW to the Cauchari solar photovoltaic (PV) complex.
In addition to the expansion that will increase the complex's total capacity to 500 MW, the agreement also includes expansion of the transformer station in Cobos and building a 220 kV high-voltage line from the Altiplano substation to the town of La Quiaca, reports Renewables Now.
The first 300 MW of the Cauchari project began construction works in October 2017, with an initial investment of $400 million.
A further $210 million were raised in a green bond placement.
